Workers under 30 experience some unique barriers to employment just by virtue of being young. When the economy isn't doing very well, older, more experienced workers start competing for jobs traditionally held by youth. Young people can start to get squeezed right out of the work place.
If you haven't held a job before, finding work without experience can be especially challenging - you are, in a sense, asking an employer to take a chance on you.
But workers under 30 have a lot to offer: energy, charisma, optimism, and few familial and financial responsibilities are attractive qualities in an employee. Many employers like to work with people who have a fresh perspective on the world of work.
