Work Placements are funded through government programs that come with a framework of guidelines and potential target groups. To qualify for funding for a work placement, participants must have an active relationship with an Employment Counsellor at The Working Centre. Work placements are potentially part of this ongoing relationship.
Work placements are designed to respond to a particular barrier or problem identified through this ongoing relationship – it could be that someone needs Canadian workplace experience in order to be hired, or it could be that someone has had difficulties holding a job in the past. The reasons are as various as the people we work with.
