In The Working Centre's early years, we were informed by community development ideas that originated in other countries. The concept of collaborative working and being, and the idea that poverty doesn't prevent people from having spirit and connection together, were key influences that came out of our international connections. The support and encouragement we received from Global Community Centre on Queen Street helped us embed these concepts in our approach.
Building from our early understanding that community development in other countries can inform different ways of doing things in our overdeveloped world, we continue to maintain a commitment to creative international collaboratives. These partnerships help us to continously learn and grow.
