As a community-based organization The Working Centre works hard to help the job searchers who walk in our doors work towards meeting their job goal. In doing this, we often act as a bridge, connecting employers and job searchers.
We aren’t a recruiter or a temp agency and don’t try to mimic those services. Instead we try to get to know employers in our communities, build relationships, and understand their needs so that we can make thoughtful, informed connections. There are many employers who have been accessing our employer services for many years because of this relationship – we understand their needs and simply want to help.
All the while, these services to employers are free. Most employers don’t enjoy hiring – it’s costly and time-consuming, and if the hire doesn’t work out it can really set the organization back. That’s where we can help.

- Would you rather not see dozens of resumes and instead see if there is a job searcher accessing The Working Centre’s services? Give us a call and we can see if we are working with someone who may be the right fit for you.
- Have specific needs? Our Job Development team is in touch with other Job Developers throughout Waterloo-Wellington, and we work cooperatively to try to make the right connections.
- Willing to hire someone who needs some extra training? We may be able to arrange a subsidized, on-the-job work placement with the right job searcher.
