Technical Purchasing Agent

Job Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Procurement:
- Purchase technical equipment, components, or materials according to the site specific construction installation requirements.
- Ensure that purchases meet the technical specifications and quality standards.

Cost Control:
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Analyze total costs, including shipping, handling, and warehousing.

Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, contracts, and vendor communications.

Coordination and Communication:
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to understand technical requirements.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to forecast needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or payment with suppliers.


Qualifications:

A background in HV/MV/LV Power Distribution & Electrical Engineering an asset.

Education: Bachelor's degree / diploma in Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering and or Power Distribution degree/diploma

Experience: Several years of experience in technical procurement, supply chain management, for HV/MV/LV Equipment

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the technical specifications and requirements of the products being procured for the HV/MV/LV Power Distribution Equipment

Attention to Detail: Precision in ensuring that purchases meet quality standards and specifications.

Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays or quality concerns.
