"Tiny emergency shelters for street people, known as "bunkies," will be tried out this winter in Kitchener to help a few more homeless men and women be warm, safe and private.
The bunkies will be simply furnished one-room huts, about 10 feet by 10 feet. Two of them will be built this fall near St. John's Kitchen on Victoria Street.
"These are just little sleeping quarters," said Mancini. They're not intended to be permanent homes."
