36th Mayors' Dinner - Knowing our Neighbours
Building social connections is the work of community. To be an active citizen is to cultivate positive relationships, seeing differences as part of the diverse work of community building. In Waterloo Region we have a rich tradition of welcome and connectedness. To share their stories at this year’s Mayors’ Dinner we welcome:
- Fauzia Mazhar, who has focused her life work on bringing together people and groups to build a welcoming, inclusive and safe community.
- John Lougheed, who weaves spiritual care with a deep awareness of seeing beauty and inclusion in consistent and small actions.
We will also feature The Working Centre’s Making Home project at 97 Victoria, as we focus on moving from homelessness to “making home” in this emerging new hub.
