In this documentary-musical by Becca Redden, Korean-Canadian singer/poet Janice Jo Lee takes us on her fearless East Coast tour, looking for answers about questions of home, community, art and activism.
She talks to different artists from her home town, Kitchener/Waterloo, all the way to Halifax, seeking out the change within those communities.
Surfacing beneath her skin is Sing Hey, an ancestral voice finally ready to be released, who has the power to move mountains with the words you wouldn’t dare speak. In between interviews, performances and musical numbers, the alternate universes of Janice Lee and her past explode into one fierce voice.
