Education /Experience Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Event Planning, Fundraising & Promotion (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years' experience promoting and hosting successful fundraising activities. Experience in generating revenue for a non-profit charitable organization.

- Effective public speaker
- Computer savvy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, and social media platforms, Meta and Canva
- Experience in Website design and maintenance
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to have a flexible work schedule to accommodate special events
- Police Record Check - vulnerable sector
- Physical stamina and ability to do heavy lifting

Job Responsibilities:
Fundraising
- Coordinate, implement and develop opportunities for growth of current fundraising initiatives
- Develop and implement new fundraising strategies, initiatives and partnerships
- Expand donor base through the marketing and promotion strategies
- Maintain event participation database
- Write grant requests for funding of various agency programs
- Complete grant reports as required by funder
- Seek out corporate partners and make presentation with the support of agency staff
- Coordinate a Thrift Shop Marketing plan

Marketing/Communications/Promotions
- Ongoing promotion of all WCS programs and services to increase community awareness
- Maintain a strong online organizational presence by actively maintaining WCS's, Facebook page, and other social media sites
- Create databases that will be relevant for donor and fundraising communication
- Coordinate with co-workers the design of an agency calendar and information sharing avenues
- Complete monthly email blasts to volunteers, partners and donors about upcoming programs and events
- Create marketing materials for the agency (i.e posters, signage etc.)
- Provide accurate information on WCS programs and services to community members and other organizations
- Respond to inquiries from external agencies, business and community members providing information and support to meet their requests
- Hallway community bulletin boards kept current and organized

Community Hub Coordination
- Provide opportunities for social, educational and recreational programs for all ages: families, adults, children and youth at the Community Hub and community spaces.
- To provide a safe and positive environment that residents can contribute to and grow from
- To work cooperatively with other facility user groups and community providers to create community led programming for all ages
- To plan and implement WCS program opportunities with Child & Youth Coordinator, Program Volunteers
- Create facility user guidelines and expectations, schedule use of room, provide accessible up to date monthly activity calendar
- Collect daily attendance and summary of activities, statistical information from community user groups
- Promote the Community Hub throughout the community
- To maintain a clean, well supplied and organized "Hub" and ensure all equipment/electronics are in working order
- To communicate effectively with the community partners and "Hub" participants with any new or changed information, and/or gaps in services

General Responsibilities:
- Comply with the mission, vision and values of WCS
- Comply with all WCS policies and procedures
- Participate fully in staff meetings and agency functions
- Be adequately trained and apply the principals of Trauma-sensitive practice
- Participate in professional development opportunities as they become available
- Complete all program statistics and reports as required
- Create and update a "how to" job task manual
- Train, support, schedule and celebrate program volunteers
- Obtain and keep current all certification requirements for position
- Other duties as assigned

Wages are $25.85/hr, 2 weeks vacation, paid sick days, mileage paid, benefits after 3 months and RRSP matching plan after 1 year. It is a contract with the intent of a permanent position if all parties are in agreement.
