About Health Based Housing

Water Street Hospitality House

At Water Street House we offer a range of health supported beds for people who are homeless/at risk with acute/palliative needs; along with safe beds for people facing the complexities of homelessness. This 24/7 model of supported housing responds uniquely to the needs of people facing complex health and housing challenges. Most of our referrals come from hospitals or community outreach partners.

We support residents to connect with health-care partners, specialists and other services, walking with people through complex medical realities. We serve as family, providing food, personal supports, cleaning and non-medical supports, and a deep care for the person.

Victoria Street Hospitality House

Victoria Hospitality House moved to Water St. (See the description above.) We have now temporarily repurposed the 87 Victoria Street House to offer showers, laundry, drop-in space, and hospitality for people living without housing or who are unsheltered. Of particular note, we support many of the people living in the large encampment across the street at 100 Victoria.

By summer of 2025 we will rebuild this Victoria campus, with St. John’s Kitchen moving into its new home, the 44 units of supportive housing opening, and the St. John’s Kitchen medical clinic moving into its new expanded main floor facility.

We hope to be able to expand the health-supported beds available in our community by returning the 87 Victoria Street house to its original purpose of supporting people who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness and facing significant medical issues.
